Luang Phor Phat (Punyakamo) is a highly respected monk and revered guru master from Nakhon Sawan Province. He serves as the Advisor to the Chief Monk of Nakhon Sawan and the Abbot of Wat Tharatharn (Wat Huayduan), located in Tharatharn Subdistrict, Nong Bua District, Nakhon Sawan.

Luang Phor Phat was born on May 12, 1922 (B.E. 2465) in Ban Srathale, Yanmatree Subdistrict, Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province.

He was ordained as a monk in 1946 (B.E. 2489) at Wat Srathale.

  • Preceptor: Phra Dhamma Trailokacharn (Yod Akkawanso) of Wat Khao Kaew

  • Kammawajacharn (Instructor of Pali Chants): Luang Pu Kan of Wat Khao Kaew

  • Anusawanacharn (Instructor of Precepts): Phra Athikan Chua of Wat Srathale

Upon ordination, he was given the monastic title “Punyakamo”, meaning “one who desires merit.”

Luang Phor Phat (Punyakamo) inherited his sacred knowledge and magical practices from Luang Pu Thet of Wat Srathale, which were passed down through a powerful lineage of masters including Luang Pu Derm of Wat Nong Pho, Luang Pu In of Wat Hang Nam Sakhon, Luang Pu Muek of Wat Srathale (of whom Luang Phor Phat was a relative/grand-disciple), and Luang Pu Mod of Wat Khok Duea.

He later studied advanced Metta Maha Niyom (great charm and loving-kindness magic) with Luang Pu Chup of Wat Phra Borommathat Thung Yang in Uttaradit Province. Luang Phor Phat eventually became the abbot of Wat Phra Borommathat Thung Yang, serving there for 6 years, before returning to reside at Wat Srathale, his birthplace temple.

Later, when his parents moved to settle as farmers in Ban Huayduan (Ban Tharatharn), the local headman, Mr. Phon, invited Luang Phor Phat to take residence at Wat Huayduan. From 1970 (B.E. 2513) until his passing, he dedicated his life to developing and preserving the temple, making it a highly respected and spiritually significant place.

In 2021 (B.E. 2564), he was granted a Royal Fan of Rank in commemoration of the Coronation Ceremony, marking his status as a highly honored monk of the Kingdom.

Luang Phor Phat passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023, at 01:35 AM at Bangkok Hospital, at the age of 101 years, having completed 77 years in the monkhood.
